Kay Teel, Rt. 5, Warsaw, was the winner of a sleigh full of $500 in gifts from Hallmark. The contest was one of several conducted at Thornburg's Super Drugs.
Roger G. Stevens, of 627 North Harrison St., Warsaw, has been accepted by the Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, where he will study automotive technology. Stevens is currently a senior at Warsaw Community High School.
Johnnie Sansom, head butcher at Robinson's Market, ought to be a juggler. At least his neighbors think so. Johnnie is residing in the Bill Chinworth home, East Center Street, while the Chinworths are Arizona-ing. He asked a neighbor if he would cook his New Year's turkey for him, and upon returning to his home with the gobbler well-done in the roaster, Johnnie slipped on the ice. John went one way; the roaster and turkey went up and came down all in order and right-side up with no casualty only to Sansom's dignity.
Sheriff Milo Maloy today destroyed three gambling slot machines taken recently by B.O. Mabie in a raid on the Mock Restaurant at North Webster. The sheriff dropped the machines out of a second story window above the Lake City Bank to the alleyway pavement below, giving the bank employees some concern when they heard the crashes.
