Perhaps influenced by the unusual winter warmness, a large number of Canada geese, approximately 200 to 300, have settled in at the south end of Winona Lake this winter. They have been flocking in the yards of several residents in that area.
Melody Cripe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cripe of 1307 Ranch Road, Warsaw, has been named to the dean's list of Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Neb., for academic course work done the first semester of the 1971-72 school year.
Advocating a more adequate street lighting system for the city, Warsaw's Chamber of Commerce appointed a committee to make a complete survey of the system and report recommendations within a month. Lozier (Bozo) Helvey was selected to chair the committee with Robert Hall, secretary.
With a membership of 35, the Women's Auxiliary of the John C. Peterson American Legion Post 49 was formed in Warsaw. Mrs. W.E. Peterson was elected president of the auxiliary, with Mrs. James Ladd elected secretary.
