Chip and Kathy Tanner constructed a replica of the Challenger Shuttle Saturday outside their parents' home on Packerton Road. The pair spent most of the afternoon constructing the masterpiece, which stood more than 10 feet tall when completed. The tribute was short-lived, however. Hours after the sculpture was completed, vandals destroyed it, and were heard to have yelled, "Look what happened to the Shuttle."
The local Junior Achievement companies are announcing an open house and trade fair where the public may come and see their operations at work and look over their products at the J.A. Center, located on the corner of Fort Wayne and Washington streets in Warsaw.
County egg producer Hobart Creighton announced something new in beauty contests. Creighton, vice president of the national poultry and egg board, said the organization was searching for "the most beautiful hen in America." The winner was to be crowned "Miss Slick Chick of 1947."
C.C. Dukes announced plans to remove his undertaking rooms and township trustee offices to a brick residence building at the corner of Center and High streets. A chapel where private funerals could be held was installed in the new location now occupied by C.O. Gerard.
