    Braxton Smith received a trophy for being chosen as second runner-up in a preliminary America's Sweetheart Beauty Pageant and Baby Contest. He is the 18-month-old son of Brendt Smith and Jean Helmreich-Smith, Warsaw.

February 21 1976

    SILVER LAKE - Fifteen Boy Scouts of Silver Lake recently participated in the annual Pinewood Derby, which was held at the Center United Methodist Church north of Silver Lake on Ind. 15.

Steve Rogers took first place with his fastest car, barely nosing out his older brother Tim, who took second place. Third place winner was George Leiter. Carl Cecil received an award for having the best design.

February 21 1951

    Adding another community service feature, The Warsaw Times-Union and Radio Station WRSW have employed Bill Johnson, assistant county agent for the past two years, as farm editor for the paper and farm director for the radio station.

Starting his new work March 1, Johnson will write a daily farm column for The Times-Union and will put WRSW on the air daily at noon with a full hour's farm program.

February 21 1926

    The title of "Radio Queen," and a fine diamond ring were won Saturday night by Winifred Anglin at the closing of the popularity contest held at the American Legion Circus and Radio show given the past week in the National Guard armory.

The second popularity prize, a wrist watch, was won by Ignota Minear; third prize a string of pearls was awarded to Golda Herscher. In the Charleston dance the couple to win the prize was Charles Ladd and Victoria Thomas.
