Viva Shetty will represent area fifth- and sixth-graders in the championship match of the Kosciusko County Spelling Bee.
Stuart Jackson, Milford, and Donna Weaver, Syracuse, were among 125 Hoosiers to participate in the Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers conference in Indianapolis this month. Young farmers attended classes and discussions were held relating to the weather, public relations for farmers, marketing, estate planning and farm safety.
Jim McKibbin, secretary of the Atwood Future Farmers' of America Chapter, won the District II secretary book contest. McKibbin is a freshman at Atwood High School this year and is taking swine and corn as his productive projects in his supervised farming program in vocational agriculture.
Jefferson Regenos and Madison Regenos, the latter of Mentone, will celebrate their 71st birthday anniversary February 19, with a dinner at the former's home, 513 S. Union St. They are twins and have lived 70 years in this county.
