    Jamie Hamby had eight service points to lead the Lighthouse Christian Academy volleyball team to a 15-3, 16-4 win over Sturgis Christian.

Rachel Brown added seven points as Lighthouse improved to 6-4. Tiffany Taylor, Becky Brown, Ashley Addair, Toni Dove and Mandy Younce also played well for the winners.

    The winner of the Most Valuable Player Award in Saturday's freshman B-team basketball tourney was Warsaw's Troy Furnivall. Troy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Furnivall, Warsaw. In Warsaw's wins over Tippecanoe Valley and Wawasee, Furnivall's defense and ball handling proved important to the tourney-winning Tigers.

    While the 34,000 people of our community sleep there is an intense activity going on unseen, unheard, and in fact unknown to most of them.

The night-time patrol of the 12 available three-way radio cars in Warsaw and Kosciusko County is something new this year that should prove a powerful deterrent to criminals looking for a place to strike.

    Mary Rolena Poor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude J. Poor, who reside north of Warsaw, a senior at Purdue University, was accorded the high honor of being elected Grand Vice President of the Anonian Literary Society at a conference held recently at Northwestern University.

Poor graduated from Warsaw High School in 1925, and entered Purdue for the Home Economics course. In recent final examinations she received the highest grade of H., a grade rarely made by students.
