Three students from Atwood Elementary School had their poems selected for publication in the 1994 edition of "The Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans." They are Danette Ciaccia, Pamela Davis and Matt Carter.
City Police Cpl. John Lehman, president of the Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police, presented a plaque to City Police Detective Sgt. Samie Brown for outstanding leadership as president of the local FOP lodge in 1977 and 1978.
Thomas Hapner, of Syracuse, recently caught a 17-pound pike on Lake Wawasee, using a shiner minnow as bait. The pike measured 42 inches long.
Warsaw High School debaters scored another victory last night when their affirmative team met Leiter's Ford at Leiter's Ford. The debaters, Margaret Gilliam, Marguerite Fowler, Marie Diehl and Crystal Davis, won by a score of 3 to 0.
