    MISHAWAKA - With record-setting junior Andy Kryder leading the way, the Wawasee Warriors put an exclamation point on a banner season with a 114-70 pummeling of Penn in prep swim action Tuesday night.

Kryder set a new pool record in the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 48.12 as the No. 2 Warriors finished the regular season with a 14-1 mark.

    It's jubilation time! For the second time in three years, the Warsaw Community High School girls' basketball team is heading to the regional basketball tournament. Warsaw squeaked to a double overtime 54-53 sectional championship victory over Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday night.

    Seven girls of the Tatapoecheon 4-H club gave a demonstration on making muffins at the meeting held in the home economics room. They were Roberta Bouse, Janet Schumacker, Mary Lou Clinker, Beverly Ewing, Sereta Ring, Linda Caudill and Velva Juday.

    O.M. Baker of the Sherwood Music School has been selected to direct the American Legion Band. The 12 new instruments ordered from the Buescher Co. and the Conn Co. in Elkhart have arrived. These include three clarinets, three trombones, two cornets, two mellophones, one baritone and one saxophone. The band expects to have 16 or 17 pieces.
