    The Madison Elementary School cheerleading squad took first-place honors in a recent competition held at the Edgewood Middle School. Members of the championship group are Juanita Leal, Fayth Mauk, Sherri Ross, Julie Wilhite, Sheena Deaton and Hillary Hodges. Their sponsor is Janice Keeton.

    Beth Stouder of Rt. 6, Warsaw, has been awarded a diploma from the ICS School of Interior Design in Scranton, Pa., for the successful completion of a career training program in the field.

ICS is an international career school offering business, vocational and college degree programs.

February 16 1952

    Four students in the music department of Pierceton High School were awarded superior ratings at the vocal-band contest held Saturday at Fort Wayne. Jules Goudy and Carolyn Foster were rated superior as soprano soloists, Sue Henderson as a pianist and Lynn Pletcher as trumpeter.

Norma Lee Henderson, pianist, received an excellent rating and Patty Walsh, baritone soloist, and Pearl Widaman, saxophonist, received ratings of good.

    Dr. J.R. Baum today became associated with Dr. A.C. McDonald in the surgical division of the Warsaw Clinic. Dr. Baum has been connected with the surgical division of the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago as visiting surgeon to that institution.

He will limit his work to surgery, office diagnosis and consultation.
