    Tasha Carr and Marc Kreischer have been named sterling grand prize winners of the DAR Essay Contest sponsored by the Agnes Pruyn Chapter.

Tasha, a fifth-grader at Atwood Elementary School, and Marc, a sixth-grader at Jefferson, achieved the highest scores on essays written about an American inventor during the era of 1775-1850.

February 15 1975

    The Tippecanoe River chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, held its annual American History Contest recently at Triton High School.

Ralph Mason was selected by the judges, Mrs. Jesse Thomas, Mrs. Steve Banie Jr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, as winner of the history medal, which was presented by Mary Fribley, American history chairman.

    Two Kosciusko County office holders announced their candidacies for Republican nominations in the May 2 primary.

Those announcing their candidacies were Earl Himes, North Webster, country auditor; and Kathryn I. Coy, Tippecanoe Lake, county assessor.

    Mrs. F.M. Neff, Milford, entertained three tables of bridge Thursday evening. The ladies present were Mesdames C.R. Brittsan, C.E. Barnes, L.E. McMicken, Harry Martin, H.C. Snyder, John Kuert, H.H. Sharp, R.W. Brown, C.A. Sparklin, Ted Eric and Martha Groves and Bessie Burris. Mrs. John Kuert won the prize of having the highest score.
