February 15 1995

    Shanna Rogers and Rich Burdge recently received awards at Tippecanoe Valley High School.

Burdge was selected the school winner in the Principal's Leadership Award Program for demonstrating ability to combine academic excellence and exemplary leadership roles in school and community activities. He was also the DAR recipient at TVHS. Rogers was nominated to become a national scholar at the National Youth Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., Feb. 21-26.

February 15 1980

    Jason Zimmerman, 8, and Paul Wiley, 10, will compete in the state Optimist Tri-Star basketball skills competition Sunday at the half of the Pacers' game. Both finished first in their age groups in the recent regional meet.

February 15 1955

    Bess Mallers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Mallers, of North Park Avenue, will play the part of Emile Zola's wife in a play to be presented over a Chicago radio stations Saturday afternoon. Mellers is a speech major at Northwestern University.


75 Years Ago

February 15 1930

    The feature of the Kiwanis Club meeting at the Hotel Hays this noon was made by the Warsaw string trio composed of Herschel Campbell, violin; John Vampner, banjo; and Harold Smythe, guitar.

Following the luncheon, the club made a visit to the Little Crow Milling Co. and inspected this large pancake flour plant.
