    Frank Jr. and Christa Ragukonis of Warsaw recently won regional finals at the Optimist Tri-Star Basketball contest in Hammond.

Frank won first place in the 11-year-old boys' division and Christa took top honors in the 12-year-old girls' division.

February 15 1981

    United Telephone Co. of Indiana placed first in the Indiana Telephone Association's 1980 marketing contest. The award recognizes excellence in developing and implementing an innovative internal marketing program.

February 15 1956

    North Webster Boy Scouts will officiate in town offices from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in recognition of National Scouting week.

Garry Culver will serve as town judge; Dickie Davis, fire chief; and Larry Baughter, town marshall. They will be assisted in these offices by town judge, Harry Stark; fire chief, Verland Bockman; and town marshall, Dick Miller.

February 15 1931

    Mrs. Vern Landis was completely but pleasantly surprised at 1 a.m. Wednesday morning when the members of her bridge club arrived at her home to extend their early birthday greetings. A bogus phone call summoned Landis downstairs, where she was greeted with happy birthdays from the night prowlers. After the excitement and shock of the surprise had died down, three tables of bridge progressed with Mrs. Paul Smith and Vern Landis receiving prizes for high scores.
