    Eldon L. Werstler, Warsaw, has been honored as a member of the National Century Club of Newton (Iowa) Manufacturing Co.

Werstler ranked fifth nationally in sales among the company's 1,400-member organization. He also received his firm's Golden Eagle Club award, based on exceptional achievements during 1990.

    The 90th anniversary of the founding of the Zerelda Reading Club was celebrated recently at the home of Mrs. Richard Glover.

The club was named for Zerelda Wallace, who was active in movements for women's rights and education. She was the wife of David Wallace, governor of Indiana 1837-1840, and the mother of Lew Wallace, author of "Ben Hur."

    Miss Carolyn Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Knight, of East Fort Wayne Street, is employed at Chicago, Ill., as a reservationist with the Northwest Air Lines. Knight recently completed a training course at the Central Air Lines school, at Kansas City, Mo. She is a graduate of the Warsaw High School and attended Bowling Green University, at Bowling Green, Ohio.

    A flock of 20 pretty turtle doves alighted in the road near the Lemuel Cook farm, southwest of Warsaw, on Monday morning (Feb. 8). Mr. Cook said the birds had evidently just arrived from the Sunny South, perhaps believing that the Northern winter was over. Turtle doves, resembling pigeons, but smaller and more graceful, usually arrive here in April.
