    A surprise party was held recently on behalf of Melvin Weaver, Syracuse, in recognition of his 30 years of service as a Wawasee Schools bus driver.

Following retirement, Weaver says he plans to travel, camp and fish in his spare time.

February 11 1975

    Five area 4-H members were recognized at the annual meeting of the Kosciusko Soil & Water Conservation District for their achievements in conservation projects that won prizes at the state fair. They are Donald and Diane Hathaway, Claypool; Melva Smith, Mentone; Kenny Hedington, Warsaw; and Steve Hoopingarner, Syracuse.


50 Years Ago
February 11 1950

    Hospital gowns, sheets, baby clothes and other supplies for Kibuye Hospital, Urundi, Africa, were made by members of the Women's Missionary society of the Free Methodist Church at an all-day work-meeting in the church parish rooms. A dinner was served at noon to the workers and guests. Mrs. John Harford, Mrs. Gilford Ring, Esther Kaelke and Elsie Robinson were in charge of arrangements for the day.


75 Years Ago
February 11 1925

    A low flying monster airplane, said to have two motors, attracted much attention as it roared 500 feet above Warsaw at 9 o'clock this morning flying eastward. Whether it was attempting to land or not was not learned.
