    Construction of a major north-south corridor in Warsaw using Logan Street could begin in the summer of 1997, according to state officials.

If Thursday's public hearings on the subject were any indication, there is not much resistance to the proposed $2.6 million project.

    First Lt. Michael R. McFarren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. McFarren, Winona Lake, is a member of the Outstanding Crew of the year at Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.

    Seven Brownies of Troop 14 became members of Girl Scout Intermediate Troop 17 at a "fly-up" ceremony held at the Scout room at the armory.

Those promoted in Girl Scout work were Vickie Philapy, Janet Mollenhour, Patricia Knowles, Karen Dinneen, Claudia Hubler, Rita Stone and Pamela Priser.

February 1 1931

    The Warsaw Daily Times sportsmanship medal given annually to the player showing the best sportsmanship, exemplary conduct, proficiency as a player, and value to his team other than his individual skill, was awarded to Victor Sparrow, Etna Green, star guard.

Sparrow ranks high both as a student and basketball player.
