A certificate of appreciation from the Warsaw Police Department and Multi-Township EMS was presented to First National Bank of Warsaw employee Sally Vaughan. She was honored for her quick response when Irene Forman, the "cookie lady," suffered a heart attack in the parking lot at the bank's U.S. 30E branch.

Feb. 9 1973

    Governor Otis Bowen (and wife, Mrs. Beth Bowen) combined his Lincoln Day appearance here Saturday with a visit with daughter and son-in-law, Judy and David McGrew, who are Warsaw residents. The governor, making his first official stop here since the inauguration, spoke to more than 300 Republicans at a noon luncheon in the Shrine building.

Feb. 9 1948

    Mr. and Mrs. James Stuckman, Milford, became grandparents twice during the same day - and the answer was not twins. A son, Adolf Carl Tiedemann IV, was born at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 22 to Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Tiedemann III, the Stuckmans' daughter, in Elkhart General Hospital. Exactly nine hours and 10 minutes later, in Goshen Hospital, a daughter, Paula Darlene, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stuckman, the Stuckmans' son.

    Thursday morning, Jan. 25, the Etna Green High School and faculty were entertained by some musical numbers upon the piano and violin by Mrs. Fretz and Miss Wilma Thomas. Both have been graduated from this high school.
