    Orville and Lois Sherman, Jackson Township, were presented the Conservation Farmer of the Year award at the annual Soil and Water Conservation District banquet. The Shermans have owned a 160-acre farm in the county since 1969 and have been practicing a variety of conservation measures.

    The temperature has been staying too near the zero mark for many people, but for the hearty outdoorsman this makes for good ice fishing. Elbert L. Morts of Rt. 6, Warsaw, and Boyd Walton of 111 S. Maple St., Warsaw, were hoping to catch some fish through the ice.

    New Pickwick Enterprises at Syracuse is re-opening virtually a year to the day after a $400,000 blaze razed the entire Pickwick block a year ago.

Feb. 5 1922

    Two more mail sacks thrown from the Pennsylvania train passing through Warsaw east bound at 1:00 Saturday afternoon rolled under the wheels of passenger cars and were cut to pieces. Newspapers in the sacks were cut to pieces and strewn over Jefferson Street for several blocks.
