    Ron Smock, PGA golf professional, has been named the new head professional of Tippecanoe Lake Country Club located at Leesburg. Smock, 38, and his wife, Rebecca, will move to the area and assume the duties as of March 1.

    Employees of the First National Bank, Warsaw, recently received special awards for five years of service when the group met for a dinner meeting at the Holiday Inn. They were J.R. Paxton, Barbar Bonner, Elaine Hively, Doris Arnold and Jean Harpster.

    Former U.S. Army Captain Herbert Gawthrop, of Leesburg, has received his chemical degree in engineering from Purdue University, it was learned today. A graduate of Milford High School with the class of 1935, the young man served in the European theater during World War II.

    Twenty-two Warsaw radio fans assembled at the Ed Phillips home on East Center Street, on Saturday night and heard Mrs. Foy Scott, former Warsaw girl and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hurford H. Jamison, of this city, give three radio recitations in Davenport, Iowa.
