Pam Yoder, 509 S. Bourbon St., Bourbon, will be participating in Indiana's Junior Miss Scholarship Program in Frankfort. This is not a beauty pageant, but a scholarship program for high school senior girls, which is run by the Jaycees.
Each weekday afternoon Mrs. Wayne Slaymaker, Warsaw, and one of her half dozen volunteer helpers turn the basement of the United Methodist Church in Packerton into a delightful world of learning and fantasy. Teaching children in the nursery school sponsored by the Packerton Community Assn. has been complicated by the fact that Mrs. Slaymaker's charges range from 3 years old to school age.
Milo Faulkner, native of the Sidney/South Whitley vicinity, now operates a book-binding business which takes him and his workers into several midwestern states. They principally repair bindings of much-used court records that have gone to seed and wound up a session at the Kosciusko County court house only a few days ago.
Nine children riding in a school hack narrowly escaped injury when the hack was struck by a Winona Interurban freight car at a crossing in Akron. The hack was badly damaged, but not a child suffered injury.
