    With certification from the State Emergency Medical Service Commission in hand, the Pierceton EMS has become the only volunteer team in the state to achieve advanced life support status.

    Although several Kosciusko County and area schools were closed today by snow-drifted roads, an estimated 1,000 third-graders piled into school buses at noon today and headed for the Shrine Circus in Fort Wayne as guests of the county Shriners.

Feb. 1 1947

    Approximately 200 city officials and guests attended the mayor's annual dinner party in the Masonic Temple as guests of Warsaw Mayor Frank O. Rarick. Following an oyster dinner, the mayor introduced city officials and guests, presenting retiring city patrolman Judd Pittenger with an engraved watch and offering a 10-gallon hat to former Kosciusko County Sheriff Frank Lucas.

Feb. 1 1922

    Guy Fisher of Milford was awarded first prize for the best display of 10-ear samples of corn produced on his farm at the close of the one-day farmer's institute in Milford. Harry Gawthrop and Ted Godshak won second and third places in the contest.
