VINCENNES - Jennifer Hoyt is among 50 students from Vincennes University who will be included in the 1993 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges."
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held in dismal weather this week for a second city fire station to be built at the corner of Cleveland and East Center streets. Present were Blake Unger, designer for Ira C. Mast and Company, contractors for the building, Fred Boggs, Don Bixel, Warsaw Mayor H. Dale Tucker and Fire Chief Norman Banghart. The 8,000-square-foot structure will have three firemen stationed there. Projected completion date is sometime next spring.
Carol Sittler, a sophomore at Purdue University, has recently been initiated into Delta Epsilon chapter of Phi Mu national sorority. Carol is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Sittler, Warsaw, and is in the school of science.
High water marks, higher than in 1913, and unequalled in 27 years except by the flood of 1920, were established by the high waters of last week at Huffman Lake, northwest of Atwood, where the lake overflowed its banks and flooded many acres. Center and Winona lakes also reached high marks. Hundreds of acres north of Center Lake were overflowed.
