    The Warsaw Community Development Corp. has recently awarded three certificates of commendation to McDonald's of Warsaw for their continuous seasonal landscaping; Gordy's Sub Pub for the exterior improvement of the property and use of awnings, at 205-207 W. Center St.; and to the law firm of Rasor, Harris, Lemon and Reed for the appropriate addition and landscaping of their property.

    Warsaw Fire Chief Norman Banghart said today that he has no new information concerning the cause of the $150,000 blaze that destroyed the quarter-block Johnson Allied Building Center warehouses on West Market Street, early Tuesday.

Banghart added that his investigation will include a probe for possible arson.

December 5 1948

    Two demonstrations were given at the meeting of Boy Scout Troop 40 held Monday evening at Silver Lake. Members of the Flying Eagle patrol demonstrated the method of finding one's way at night by the stars. It was aptly illustrated by the use of small lights, representing the stars of the "big dipper" and a larger light, as the north star.

    In connection with the preaching service at the Methodist church next Sunday evening Miss Metheta Sloan of Syracuse will whistle several selections. Miss Sloan is quite an artist in her line and her numbers are winning her favor whenever she appears on a program.
