The Indiana Football Coaches Association named its All-State football teams.
The three local players selected by the coaches are in Class 3A - Whitko's Arrick Custer and Tippecanoe Valley's Mike Biddle, named to the senior All-State team, and in Class 2A, Manchester's Brandon Reimer made the junior All-State team.

TERRE HAUTE - James A. Schutt, Pierceton, has been initiated into the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology chapter of Pi Tau Sigma, national mechanical engineering honorary.
Schutt, a 1978 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. Schutt.

Harold Nelson, of Mentone, was elected president of the Kosciusko County Poultry Association at the first monthly meeting for the winter season.
Other officers elected were Jim Beeson, Mentone, vice-president; Roger Lycke, of Warsaw, secretary-treasurer.

The Warsaw High School debating team defeated the Churubusco High School team in the first debate of the season at the Warsaw High School building.
The question was: "Resolved, That the present System of Installment Buying Should Be Condemned." Warsaw had the affirmative side of the question. Warsaw debaters were: Andrew Allan, Robert Davis, Allen Eister and Stanley Boggs.
