    Edgewood Middle School mental attitude award winners for the fall were: Chris Gachenheimer, cross country; Jesse McKinley, eighth football; Zachary Scheetz, seventh football; Brooke Sutton, eighth volleyball; and Elizabeth Pinnick, seventh volleyball.

Lakeview Middle School mental attitude award winners for the fall were: Adam Conley, cross country; Michael VanLaeken, seventh football; Luke Saylor, eighth football; Erin Shalley, eighth volleyball; and Erin Farris, seventh volleyball.

December 4 1979

    Sweeping the first two places in nine of 11 events, the Warsaw Community High School swim team sank undermanned Howe Military 70-13 at the Kosciusko Community YMCA pool.

Bob Sadenwater and Chris Mariott led the rout as each won a pair of individual events for the Tigers. Sadenwater came home first in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while Marriott won blue ribbons in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.

    Homer Shoop and Bevan Youse, both of North Webster, captured high honors last weekend in the national bridge tournament at Atlanta, Ga.

Contestants from 43 states and six countries participated in the tournament.

December 4 1929

    The Warsaw High School girls' basketball team and squad was chosen yesterday. This team will play three games with outside schools, all of the games to be played here.

The personnel of the team is as follows: jumping center, Jean Widaman; running center, Anel Ristow; forwards, Charlotte Ferguson and Mary Felter; guards, Ruth Harmon and Elizabeth Perry. The girls elected Ruth Harmon their captain.
