    Randy Kirkendall, at Warsaw Cut Glass, is getting his band back together. "Tap Dancing Bats" is scheduled to perform at 2517 Restaurant New Years Eve. The five-piece group disbanded more than 12 years ago but many of the same names will be reunited, so to speak. The band performs a variety of '60s music.

    Three area sixth graders were selected as sweepstake winners in a recent "Christmas Sack" contest, sponsored by the Kosciusko County Mental Health Assn.

The winners were Ted Skeans, Leesburg School, with his hand-drawn deer; Gina Barrett, Silver Lake Elementary, a hand-drawn drummer boy; and Debbie Thomas, Madison Elementary in Warsaw, three Christmas bells in chalk, also hand-drawn.

    Plomer R. Michael, Milford, received a letter signed by Adjutant General Edward F. Witsell, of the Department of the Army, Washington, D.C., that an army ocean-going vessel has been named after his son, Lt. Harry J. Michael, who was a victim of World War II.

    A large delegation of Kosciusko County farmers left Warsaw on Wednesday afternoon for Indianapolis to attend the state meeting of the Farmers' Federation. Among those who left Warsaw were Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Robbins and son, Robert, Mrs. A.E. Lehman, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ralph, J.C. Widman, County Agent Tom Parker, Blanche Bowers, E.J. Kinsey, Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Deaton, D.H. Fisher, Mrs. Jacob Bucher, E.L. Coy, Mrs. Celia Baugher, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Knepper, C.E. Vandermark and Mrs. Cora Kissinger.
