Kosciusko County Crime Stoppers was the big winner in the Breading Cigar Store annual Christmas Benefit last Saturday morning. Downtown Warsaw was rockin' with the holiday music furnished by Dr. Virgil McCleary and his organ while N. Bruce Howe strong-armed patrons for donations. When the final tally was completed, Crime Stoppers ended up with $2,700 - a record amount. Fred A. Lozier, of Lozier Excavating, Warsaw, was the fifth recipient of the "Breading's Man of the Year" award.

Striking a lazy cow which stood defiantly in the highway and did not move as expected, badly damaged a Studebaker auto and forced the auto party to leave their car here for repairs and continue the trip to Mishawaka by interurban on Tuesday night.

Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Jennings, of Mishawaka, accompanied by an elderly woman, occupied the auto which stuck the cow six miles east of Warsaw. The radiator, fan, lamps and fender were badly damaged, completely disabling the car. "Didn't seem to hurt the cow at all," Jennings told The Times representative.
