    Warsaw will soon be getting its first log cabin office. The Spectacle Shoppe will be opening its doors at 2413 Dubois St., within a few months. The optical services will remain the same, with Dr. Denis J. McCormack serving the Warsaw area.

    For the sixth consecutive year, Da-Lite slide & movie projection screens were rated No. 1 in a nation-wide dealer preference survey, according to Camera Gazette Publishing Co., well-known Chicago photographic merchandising publication.

In a copyrighted report, Camera Gazette listed Da-Lite with a perfect score of 100. Da-Lite has rated a perfect score of 100 in nine of the past 10 years.

December 30 1948

    H.C. (Bert) Gensch, formerly of Milwaukee, Wis., started duties this morning as Winona Lake's new marshal, following his appointment by the Winona Lake town board.

The new marshal replaces Link Hay, whose resignation became effective Dec. 11. Hay had served as town marshal and fire chief of Winona Lake for the past four years.

    David Breading, well-known farmer living at Hall's Stop on the Winona Interurban between Warsaw and Leesburg, established a record here today when he was observed running a lawn mover over his front yard, where green grass had grown to unusual length.

"Looked like he had a straw hat on," said a Winona Interurban employee who waved at Breading as the car sped past.
