    Business Monthly magazine has named Biomet Inc. as one of 1989's top 10 best-managed companies in the United States, according to Greg Sasso, spokesman for the orthopedic firm. The magazine, targeted toward corporate managers, gave a brief profile of Biomet and its president, Dane Miller.

    The most valuable athletes in their particular fall sports at Wawasee High School this past season were Betsy Williams, girl's golf; Rob Zurcher, tennis; Phyllis Horvack, volleyball; Mark Smith, baseball; Doug Shock, cross country; and Rick Dahlstrom, football.

    On Nov. 20, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hawley entertained in honor or Mrs. Hawley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart, Bourbon, on their 54th wedding anniversary. A large four-tiered cake centered the table, which had been baked by two granddaughters, Judy and Suzanne Stewart, also of Bourbon.

    Within three hours after last night's Times had been issued containing a 25-cent want ad for the Munson Brothers garage here, 56 applicants had appeared or phoned for the job. Twenty more straggled in before the garage closed for the night and today they were still coming. It pays to advertise in The Times.
