    Local brothers, Don and George Clemens have purchased the Rabb Soft Water Company on Argonne Road, from long-time owners Jim and Marty Rabb. The area Kinetico dealer operates in a six-county area.

    A Claypool native, Bruce Merkle, has received a personal invitation from President and Mrs. Nixon to attend a reception in the White House on Dec. 4.

The occasion, according to the invitation, is a reception for the president of the council of state of the Republic of Romania. Merkle, the son of Frank Merkle, Rt. 2, Claypool, is a graduate of Claypool High School and George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Merkle is a staff assistant in the Washington office of Indiana Congressman William Bray.

    Ray L. Strayer, Warsaw insurance man, who has been chairman of the Indiana State Farm Underwriters' committee of Insurance Agents of Indiana, has been given an additional signal honor. Mr. Strayer has been named a member of an eight-member committee by the national insurance agents organization. The committee handles farm insurance problems and matters.

    "Bubbles" Hargrave, former Warsaw ball player, may land the berth as manager of the St. Paul American Association team. It was at St. Paul that "Bubbles" made his record before breaking into the big league the second time.
