    Gary Oxley of Etna Green, Baseball Chairman of the Northern Indiana Officials Association, was selected as one of the 1994 Regional Umpires of the Year. The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association selects umpires for this award.

December 3 1979

    A new teacher at Warsaw Community High School this year is Robert Creighton, teaching a senior distributive education class, sophomore consumer math and junior marketing.

A year ago, he was teacher of biology and integrated science at Tippecanoe Valley.

December 3 1954

    Janet Olds, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. F.C. Olds, of Warsaw, has been given a part in the Purdue University production of "Mrs. MeThing" a comic fantasy play by the author of "Harvey." Olds will portray Evva, a woman of wealthy society. Olds is a graduate of Warsaw High School and a sophomore in the Purdue School of Science.

December 3 1929

    Mrs. Walter Pape, of Winona Lake, is tenth among 170 winners of prizes given by the St. Petersburg radio station WSUN through a letter written by her in answer to the broadcast, "Why the WSUN radio program made me want to spend the winter in St. Petersburg, Fla." A two weeks stay at the Pennsylvania Hotel, admission to the Jungle Country Club and entertainment by the Chamber of Commerce is Mrs. Pape's prize.
