    For the second time in Lake Land College history, the Freshman Livestock Judging Team won the Mid-Continent Livestock Exposition. The team finished first in reasons, first in sheep, second in swine and third in beef.

Their freshman team includes two local students, Lori Messmore, Pierceton, and Tammy Eberly, South Whitley.

    Sgt. Eldon Werstler, of the Warsaw Police Department, was officially sworn in as president of the Police League of Indiana by Past President Richard Parker recently at a district meeting of the PLI at Terre Haute.

He has been a member of the PLI since 1956.

    Cpl. Forrest Robert (Bud) Baugher, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest W. Baugher, Warsaw, is assigned to an anti-aircraft army unit, at Camp Lucas, Mich., which guards the locks at Sault Ste. Marie. He likes his work, his camp and the occasional weekend leaves he has spent in Canada.

    Dick Miller, sports writer for the United Press, in announcing the all-Indiana state high school football team gives honorable mention to Wayne Huffer, of the Warsaw High School.

Huffer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Huffer, 425 S. High St., and is a junior in the high school. He is a prominent local athlete, having made a record both as a football and basketball player. Miller places him as a halfback.
