    MISHAWAKA - Three local residents are among the 22 Bethel College students who will be leaving Dec. 28 for the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

Leah Gagnon, Leesburg; Ralph Lantz, Nappanee; and Jody McCoy, Etna Green, are among the third team to Trinidad from Bethel under the coordination of Kingdom Building Ministries, Aurora, Colo., to minister to children and through the use of music, drama, puppetry and personal testimonies.

    Winona Lake Fire Chief Bob Wulliman presented an award to Roger Gelbaugh, Warsaw, who was named the 1978 Winona Lake "Fireman of the Year" at the department's annual Christmas party recently. Gelbaugh, a volunteer fireman for eight years, has been a captain of the Winona Lake Fire Department for the past two years. He received the award for his service, as well as instructing fire prevention and safety classes for Jefferson School pupils.

    The brilliant Donnie Butts, former Beaver Dam High School basketball star, paced Manchester College to its second consecutive win of the season last night, 82 to 61, over Huntington's Foresters.

Butts, a sophomore, scored 19 points in the game, which was played at Huntington.

    Piano pupils of Nellie Killian, who received points of merits for the past quarter were: Jack Riddle, four points; Barbara Dickey, four points; Milton Burden, five points; Marilyn Brown, five points; Sally Eschbach, five points; Ruth Jane Arnold, five points; and Sybill Saylor, five points.
