    Entertainer Dolly Parton has a new motor home with a Warsaw connection. Larry Carey of Carey Wood Products makes cabinets and closet doors for Royal Coach of Elkhart. Recently, he filled an order for cherry doors, along with a chair and dressing table stool for a $750,000 home ordered by the country music star.

    MENTONE - Three Warsaw Community High School wrestlers captured first place in the first Tippecanoe Valley Junior Varsity Wrestling Invitational.

Warsaw's champions were Todd Lozier at 98 pounds, Travis Walls at 132 and Mike Hoover at 145.

December 21 1954

    Our Towner, Alex King, Warsaw Bottling, has received a promotion to colonel in U.S. Army Reserve. Alex, honor graduate at Kemper Military Academy, Mo., server corps in the South Pacific during World War II, and has maintained his rank of lieutenant colonel during and since reverting to inactive status after the war. He held reserve commission for nearly 20 years and soon will be eligible for retirement.

December 21 1929

    Overcome by exposure, one of the pigeons which makes its home in the court house dome fell down through a disused chimney and came out in the fire place in the office of County Engineer Will Taylor this morning.

Taylor at first thought it was Santa Claus coming down the chimney, but when he recovered from his surprise, he put the pigeon in a box and is taking care of it.
