The Mentone Fire Department recently had its annual Christmas appreciation dinner. Earning awards were: Bill Reed, for 30 years of service to the department, and Kreg Warren, winner of the Fireman of the Year award.
Navy Machinist's Mate Fireman Apprentice David G. Lawson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex E. Lawson of Rt. 1, Box 502, Leesburg, recently returned from participation in the maritime portion of the major NATO exercises "Autumn Forge '76."
George Stookey was elected president of the Milford boys 4-H club at a meeting at the vocational agricultural room at the Milford School.
Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Williams of West Center Street will go to Indianapolis next Tuesday to attend a state meeting of the Indiana Dairy Products Manufacturer to be held at the Claypool Hotel. They will return home Wednesday.
