    Mike Clay, 24, Warsaw, bagged one of the state's biggest deer this year. The eight-point buck was officially scored in the Pope and Young National Big Buck Club after measuring 130-1/2 points. Clay's kill tanked among the top 135 of the year. The deer was killed south of Warsaw and Clay used a compound bow.

    Frank Hardesty, Mentone, has purchased The Rochester Sentinel's commercial printing department from Jack K. Overmyer, publisher of The Sentinel.

The business will be know as Hardesty Printing Company and will continue to operate in its present location at 116 E. Eighth St., Rochester, adjoining The Sentinel's business office and publishing plant.

    Some 633 persons in and around Warsaw are about to "blow $46,200 on Christmas gifts." This, the largest amount ever disbursed, will be paid to Christmas Clubbers of the Lake City Bank this week, according to Elmer Funk, executive vice president.

Mr. Funk said that the Christmas accounts varied in size from $12 to $500 each, but that they averaged $73 each.

    A party was given on Friday evening for Miss Helen Gruver, of Lafayette, at the home of Miss Dorothy Wood, 521 W. Market St. A taffy pull was the main feature of the evening. Games and contests were also enjoyed. Guests for the occasion were Miss Gruver, Miss Frances Clarke, Miss Marguerite Clark, Miss Loa Pyle and Miss Edna Welrick.
