    Salesmen from Rice Ford Lincoln Mercury, Warsaw, recently won first place in the Regional Championship Game Plan for Leadership competition in Pontiac, Mich. The competition, against five district winners from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, was created to test the product knowledge of each sales staff on the Ford car and truck line. Winning the first-place trophy are Dave Edwards, Dale McMullen, Tom Eisenhour and Doug Miller.

    The winners of the microwave oven that Warsaw Home Appliance and TV gave away as part of a microwave oven demonstration are Mr. and Mrs. Merle Mock, Warsaw.

December 19 1952

    William M. Carroll, of Milford, and formerly of Warsaw, retired Dec. 1 as a New York Central Railroad mail clerk after 37-1/2 years of mail service. During the past 10 years he served as chief clerk of Train No. 14, operating between Chicago and Cleveland, carrying three distributing mail cars in addition to mail storage cars. He was in charge of 35 clerks.

December 19 1927

    In a grueling basketball game at the community hall last night, the fast senior team took the measure from the junior team of the local high school, by the score of 12 to 11. During the five minutes overtime, "Peanuts" Breading was running down the floor and was tripped. He rolled around like a ball, was mistaken for the basketball by a senior, who picked him up and tossed him through the basket for a goal, thus winning the game for the seniors.
