    Joe Dock, manager of Hoosier Water Co., Warsaw, was honored as Large Systems Operator of the Year by the Indiana Rural Water Association at its statewide meeting in October.

The award is given annually by the association's board of directors in honor of outstanding achievement in the waterworks industry.

December 18 1977

    Warsaw Community High School linebacker Phil DeGaetano capped an excellent football season by recently being named to the Bloomington Herald Telephone junior all-state first defensive team.

DeGaetano led the Tigers in defensive points and was Warsaw's only first team selection of the Northern Lakes Conference team. He accumulated 160 tackle points on 31 solos, 67 assists and several recovered and caused fumbles.

December 18 1952

    Pfc. Jack D. Miller, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. Miller, of the Tippecanoe community, has returned from Japan after 13 months overseas. He has completed two years of army duty and received his separation papers.

Assigned to army headquarters at Tokyo, he served as special chauffeur for important guests and officials.

December 18 1927

    Indications are bright for Warsaw being connected in 1929 with Rochester and Logansport on the new cement highway No. 31 known as the Michigan Road, says C. Leroy Leonard, state senator for this county and Wabash. The route from Warsaw will be over the Mentone cement road, thence by the "river road" to Rochester.

Reports from Rochester received in Warsaw today tell of the plans for the immediate construction of a highway between Rochester and Logansport.
