"U Can With Beakman" is a colorful contemporary graphic that leads kids to discover how the world around them works, and "The Mini Page" helps families read, write, discuss and learn together.

    Playing the role of the incumbent to the hilt, William Chapel simply chose to "stand on my record" to earn a four-year appointment to the Board of Trustees of Warsaw Community Schools by Warsaw Common Council in a special meeting Monday night.

After nearly 2-1/2 hours of interviews that were not nearly as stormy as some observers anticipated, Chapel was reappointed to his post by a 4-1 vote.

    Arthur Mabie, Syracuse, a demonstration winner at the Purdue 4-H Club round-up held at the state fair this summer, is attending the 18th annual convention of the National Junior Vegetable Growers' Association, held in New York City, Dec. 7-11. One of 31 Hoosier boys and girls, he left Indianapolis by chartered bus Saturday and will make his headquarters at the Hotel Henry Hudson in New York.

    The Warsaw Independents open their basketball season Tuesday night at North Webster. The Independents will be backed by the H.J. Schrader Co., Warsaw. The Warsaw team will have the following men on their roster: Bick, Akers, L. Stokes, S. Stokes, Helvey, Sands, Huffer and others.
