    An Indiana State Policeman from Warsaw was honored with an award for bravery in saving the life of a truck driver involved in a fiery crash on March 12 on U.S. 30 near CR 350W, Warsaw.

Trooper Thomas K. Littlefield, Warsaw, is only the fourth officer in the 63-year history of the agency to receive the Gold Star Award for Valor.

December 16 1981

    Cindy Horn, Warsaw Community High School and Bethanie Lynn Walker, Wawasee High School, recently were chosen winners of the Agnes Pruyn Chapman Chapter DAR Good Citizen awards, 1982.

These young women were selected to represent their respective schools along with other students throughout the state, and state winners will be entered in the national DAR finals.

December 16 1956

    Jeanette Bradway and Eileen Lichtenwalter, of Warsaw, won the Moose state bowling tournament doubles title for women, held recently at Kokomo.

The tournament ran three weekends. Bradway had 554 actual pins in her three-game score while Lichtenwalter rolled a 523 actual. Their combined handicap of 162 pins gave them a total score of 1,239

    Four students from Warsaw and vicinity, Louise Ireland, Robert Robinson and Stuart and Vernon Van Dyke, were four of the 40 students out of 600 at Manchester College who were place on the honor roll for excellent grades for the fall term. Ireland and Stuart Van Dyke received all A grades. There are 15 students from Warsaw attending Manchester this year.
