    North Webster American Legion Post 253, in conjunction with Syracuse Post 223 and Milford Post 226, recently awarded three scholarships to students who competed in the American Legion National Oratorical Contest.

The winners were Bret Booher, Joel Wogoman and Faith White, all from Wawasee High School.

    Steven T. Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Robinson, Warsaw, has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of airman first class.

Airman Robinson is an administrative specialist at RAF Upper Heyford, England.

    Tom Sittler, former Silver Lake High School star athlete, is performing remarkably well as a regular guard this year on the Valparaiso University basketball team.

Tom, at 5-10, is the smallest man on the towering Valparaiso team. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sittler, Silver Lake.

December 14 1930

    Warsaw High school debaters returned home from Fort Wayne victorious over the Fort Wayne North Side High School. The debate was held in Fort Wayne.

Warsaw debaters were Stewart Van Dyke, Lawrence Smith, David Gast and Wilda Mellencamp.
