    MUNCIE - Ball State University student Vicky English, Pierceton, recently received the East Central Indiana Personnel Association Scholarship.

English, a graduate of Whitko High School, is a senior personnel major.

    By doubling his age, 18-year-old Sam Hartle, a senior at Warsaw Community High School, can determine the age of his mother, Mary June Hartle, 36, who is employed at Sun Metal Products Inc. Another multiplication gives Sam the age of his grandmother, Pearl Miner, 72, of rural Bourbon. The unusual coincidence in ages was brought to our attention by Sam's father, Lee Hartle, of 1801 E. Clark St., Warsaw.

    Bazil O'Reilley, instrumental music instructor at Warsaw High School, was elected to the board of directors of the Indiana Music Educators Association at the state convention held Thursday through Saturday in Indianapolis. He will represent District 1 on the directors board.

Margaret Ann Voirol, vocal music instructor, also attended the sessions, which took place at the Antlers Hotel.

    Mrs. Norval Yarger was hostess to 12 ladies Monday evening. The event was a delicious chow mein dinner followed by an evening of bridge. First prize was won by Mrs. Chester Hall and second by Mrs. Merl Scoles. The guests were: Lucia McRaven, Mrs. Joe Irwin, Mrs. Keith Hankins, Mrs. Merl Scoles, Mrs. Arwid McConnell, Troas Minear, Mrs. Louis Myers, Mrs. Chester Hall, Mrs. Ralph Fifer, Mrs. Joe Hansman and Mrs. LeRoy Bibler.
