December 13 1995

    Warsaw senior Maria Kittrell was recently named first team Academic All-State in girls golf. She is one of only 15 girls selected from around the state. Kittrell, who played in the No. 1 position for the Tigers for two years, ranks 9th out of 444 in her class. Kittrell was the team's Most Valuable Player her junior and senior year and was named All-Northern Lakes Conference in those seasons as well.

December 13 1980

    Kosciusko County Treasurer Kathryn Teel was recognized by fellow elected officials when they presented her with the "Golden Rule Award" for the northeast district of Indiana at the annual conference of the Association of Indiana Counties in Indianapolis last week.

Teel, who is completing her second and final term as county treasurer, was one of five officeholders to receive the coveted award for providing distinguished service to Indiana counties.

    Mrs. William Geiger is the newly elected president of the Women's Relief corps at Syracuse.

Mrs. John Benson is vice president; Mrs. Oscar Benson, treasurer; Mrs. Floyd Gingerich, secretary; Mrs. Estella Swartz, Mrs. Elva Connell, Mrs. Sam Searfoss are chaplin, conductress and guard, respectively. Those listed as color bearers are Mrs. Orlie Brown, Elizabeth Pollock, Mrs. Clarence Snyder and Mrs. Ella Unrue.

December 13 1930

    With the mercury registering around 55 degrees and with no frost on the ground, a number of Warsaw residents spaded gardens. The temperature dropped to 36 degrees last night, but rose again today, and again garden spading operations were resumed here.
