Three of Warsaw's volunteer firefighters have stepped aside to let the "youngbloods" take over.
At a recent dinner gathering held in the Shrine Building, Endicott Industries honored long-time employees with plaques noting their number of years of service with the company. They are Floyd Mahan, Thelma Blue, Ron Jones, Fran Prescott, Jim Camp, Ilah Hamilton, Larry Hilliard and Wayne Ransbotton, five years; Ralph Chapmen, 10 years; Connie LaRue and Molly Lee (for Jim Lee, deceased) 15 years; and Roy Allison, 20 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Grubbs, who live west of Warsaw, have played host to a carrier pigeon for the past six weeks. The pigeon shows little eagerness to be on his way. His leg band number is 963. The Grubbs believe he had been shot at as his wing was injured. They would like to find the bird's owner but do not know how to go about it.
An impromptu piano recital was given at the studio of Maude Snyder in this city. The students whose names were drawn were the ones who put on the program. The names of the fortunate ones: Carolyn Kozak, Dorothy Scoles, Mildred and Wilda Mellencamp, Mabel Rebman, Frances Ritter, Kathylene Whittenberger, Geraldine Hines, Kathryn Olds, Martha Scott, Eloise Kessler, Elizabeth Hines, Betty BeView, Jean Burns, Violet Lehew and Phyllis Russell. The program was concluded with a two-piano number, Impromptu by Schubert, played by Wilodean Hartman and Mrs. Snyder.
