    Two Warsaw police officers will graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy basic training course in Plainfield.

Officers Tony A. Faucett and Lynn E. Butcher Jr. have completed the 12-week training program required of all law enforcement officers.

December 11 1975

    J.C. Wood, 35, of 313 S. Lake St., Warsaw, was named "1975 Warsaw Fireman of the Year." The award was presented by Fire Chief Norman Banghart during the annual meeting and election of officers at the Firemen's Building, Pike Lake. Wood has been a volunteer firemen here for the past four years. Officers elected included Paul Hoffer, captain; John Ladd, first lieutenant; Jim Phillips, second lieutenant; Roy Bradbury, trustee; Ed Watkins, secretary; and Mike Blackford, treasurer.

December 11 1950

    George Fisher, athletic director at Warsaw High School, and his wife, Miriam, were surprised during the Leesburg-Warsaw basketball game when they were presented a coffee serving set in honor of Coach Fisher's 25th anniversary year as head football coach at Warsaw High.

The presentation was made before an estimated 2,000 fans at the local high school armory.

December 11 1925

    NORTH MANCHESTER - Arthur Garrison is looking for a wild-eyed steer that escaped from the stock yards. A number of steers were brought to the stock yards in a truck by Irvin Murphy, and no sooner were they unloaded than one of them with a wild bawl cleared the stock yards fence and headed east.
