    Winona Lake town board president Edd Breed presented three distinguished service awards at the December board meeting. Recognized for outstanding service to the community were Jim Smelser, Charlene Black and Dick Taylor.

    Warsaw High School's 1971 starting line-up in the Warsaw-Wawasee Northern Lakes Conference will include Terry Ressler, Steve Tarner, Dan Woods, Denny Hepler and Greg Johnson.

    If you notice a beautiful rabbit-skin jacket on the streets of Warsaw, you will probably discover that the wearer is Oren Burnsworth, who is employed at the Northern Indiana Public Service Company plant. Burnsworth raises rabbits at his home on East Market Street, and recently skinned some of the bunnies and had his flashy jacket made out of their hides.

    Warsaw and Kosciusko county residents are doing their Christmas shopping early. Thousands of yuletide gifts already have been purchased at local stores. The stores of Warsaw are usually well prepared for the shopping of the yuletide season. The stock includes thousands of articles of utility as well as toys, and prices quoted are far under those of a year ago.
