The Civic Theater of Warsaw announces the winner of the "Time Capsule Contest" is Mike L. Yocum, Winona Lake. Yocum was the first person to correctly identify the location of the time capsule as 212 W. Jefferson, the Warsaw Train Depot. He was entitled to the contents of the capsule itself, which included tickets to the Civic Theater and a gift certificate to The Viewpoint Restaurant.
Emra G. Stookey, Route 2, Milford, a longtime Holstein breeder and dairy farmer, today was designated Indiana's 1972 Dairyman of the Year. The recognition came from the Indiana State Dairy Association, which held its annual meeting at the 4-H fairgrounds north of Peru.
Nearly 150 high school age baton twirlers, the Midwest's best, will stage an exhibition and a contest Saturday night, in the Warsaw armory. The "Majorette contest" is entirely composed of girl contestants, with the exception of several boys who hold championship ratings, and who will perform for exhibition only.
Dr. Walter O. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Allen, of this city, has opened offices as surgeon and physician in Detroit. Dr. Allen, familiarly known as "Owen," here, attended Warsaw public schools, graduated from the local high school, attended Michigan University and later graduated from Indiana University Medical School after six years' study. He also spent two years as an intern.
