In the traditional sense, the Optimist Club is thought of as a men's organization. But come Monday, local women may be more involved than ever anticipated. Wanda Herrald, who recently moved to Warsaw, has begun the process for organizing a new Optimist Club, the Monday Morning Optimists. A meeting for interested women - and men - is set for 6:30 a.m. Monday at Richards Restaurant.
Junior Girl Scouts of Troop 21, Madison School area, revealed they had the true spirit of the Christmas season when they appeared at the Warsaw Nursing Home, 2402 E. Center St., with gifts for the residents there. Sororities and organizations also contributed gifts to be passed out on Christmas Day.
Kosciusko County drivers may obtain their 1948 automobile license plates on Jan. 5, according to an announcement from the local license branch office. The new plates will have a blue background, with white letters, fashioned after the Butler university colors.
The local freight crews from both the Nickle Plate and Big Four Railway companies make it a point to reach Claypool for lunch and very seldom do they miss calculations. Both crews have their tables and abandon their trains and enjoy their meals in perfect homelike manner. The restaurant is located just west of the depot and is conducted by Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Tidley) Cluen.
