Warsaw Public Library Director Ann Zoski said orders have been made for the first compact disc collection. She said about 30 CDs featuring jazz and classical music should be available by April.
A big 8-foot stocking filled with Christmas goodies was awarded to Carl Rensberger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Rensberger, Rt. 4, Warsaw, when his name was chosen at the Holiday Inn. The drawing was held for children up to 12 years of age.
Mrs. I.H. Minton, of 916 E. Market St., this city, sends to The Times copies of The Daily Times published in the years 1912-13-14, and a memorial found among the effects of her late grandfather, John Lengle, of Huntington, who was a member of the old Twelfth Indiana regiment, which saw service in the Civil war. In one of the copies is found the current day's account of the First World War that raged in France in 1914.
A motor driven ice cutting machine will be used this year for the first time by the Warsaw Ice Company in harvesting its annual supply on Center Lake. The machine eliminates the use of horses, which on thin ice is often quite dangerous, and allows the ice cutters to begin cutting sooner than usual.
