    A Winona Lake native and 1976 graduate of Warsaw Community High School has been selected as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America for 1987.

By receiving this distinctive honor, Terrel William Haines, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Haines, Winona Lake, joins an elite group of young men from the entire United States who have demonstrated their excellence in professional endeavors and civic activities.

Dec. 24 1972

    Volunteer and regular firemen from Warsaw and Wayne Township will play Santa Claus to several needy area children on Christmas Eve as they pass out hundreds of dollars worth of toys. Contributions from the fireman's ball and other donations went to the worthy cause. Firemen will be donating their own time on Christmas Eve to make the toy deliveries.

Dec. 24 1947

    Retiring appliance dealer Wayne White was startled (pleasantly) this week when notified that he had won an all-expense paid trip through New Orleans to Florida and return. The vacation was awarded Mr. White for outstanding Bendix appliance sales in a tri-state area.

Dec. 24 1922

    School started this week in the Harrison community school building, the building under construction during the past few months in Harrison Township. This school will accommodate the schools formerly held at Palestine, Huffer, Scott and Orion, which have been under operation until this week.
