    Lloyd Perkins, assistant to the publisher of the Times-Union, was honored for his tenure of service - a career spanning more than 50 years with the newspaper. He was presented with a gold watch and a check by Norm Hagg, Times-Union general manager.

    Two Warsaw Volunteer Fire Department members make it their charitable business to see that no local youngster in the community goes without toys at Christmas time. This year veteran volunteer Charles (Chuck) Sainer reports that department members visited 22 families with toys for the tots.

Dec. 24 1946

    Worley Smith, of North Webster, read the article written by George Nye about the Isaiah Kuhn ditch, wrote that he was the man who ran the dipper in 1903 when the ditch was dug. He recalls that a homemade dredging machine was constructed on the north shore of Morehead lake by John Bushong and Any Snoke, who contracted with Wallace J. Dillingham to dig the ditch.

Dec. 24 1921

    Three Warsaw boys, Tom Frazer, Dewey Miner and John McCarter, along with 40 other members of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at Purdue escaped injury when the fraternity house was completely destroyed by fire late Friday night. It is believed a lighted match thrown into a dumb waiter started the fire. At the time of the fire a dance was being given by the chapter.
